Best of Fashion Week New York – Women’s Wear Part Five

Part Five of the Summer 2013 best of women’s wear from Fashion Week New York - again in alphabetical order…

Angel Sanchez – ever heard? I haven’t. Until now! What a great collection! I had to find out more: Angel Sanchez developed an appreciation for fashion at a young age surrounded by dress forms and fabrics in his mother’s Venezuelan atelier. Initially, his first love was architecture, which he studied and practiced professionally for many years, but he soon found himself drawn to back to his mother’s work. Armed with the knowledge of form and structure from his architectural work, Angel Sanchez founded his fashion house and quickly rose to fame throughout Latin America, and expanded internationally when the company headquartered in New York City.

Donna Karan New York – the ultimate reliable brand… A modern system of dressing, Karan’s concept is based on seven easy pieces, where a handful of interchangeable items work together to create an entire wardrobe that goes from day to evening, week day to weekend, season to season. “I’m designing for an international man and woman. A creative person who never knows where a day is going to take them,” says Donna Karan. “That’s why New York is on the label. It sets the pace, the attitude.”

Be brave – show off some colour! Farah Angsana will give you some weapons…

And another New Yorker: Mathieu Mirano - ok, he does sound somewhat Italian. Maybe that’s where is great eye for shapes and colours comes from?

Hot. Very hot. Superhottttt… Norisol Ferrari! Celebrating the female silhouette like no other, this New Yorker has only launching her own Ready-to-Wear collection in 2010. But for 2013, she should definitely be better known. Oh those curves!
