Best of Fashion Week Milan – Women’s Wear Part One
Dreams became reality when Alberta Ferretti‘s Summer 2013 collection conquered the runway – and my heart. The typical layering, draping and tucking techniques, embroideries and innocent erotic aura of her designs were omnipresent but still just as new as if it was her first collection. Only a true designer can convey his signature while presenting something totally new. I am deeply impressed.
The Blugirl line joined the main Blumarine line in 1995 and was immediately seen as a younger range able to express the same values as the main line yet in a more playful, irreverent and humorous style. Today the line has modified its original image and style, with a slow yet progressive maturing both of the clothes on offer and of the image it expresses, states the Bluefin Group. Boy, did that Blugirl grow up…
Strong ancient goddesses in metallics and faded shades of female colours – that’s what Blumarine, the more grown-up line of the Bluefin Group, showed this season in Milan. The group itself puts it this way: “Over the years the distinguishing features of the Blumarine woman have never changed: the romanticism, a sophisticated sensuality, the femininity and the timeless elegance of her clothes that evoke a concept of luxury and a reference to the “Italianness” of the brand.” Obviously, the creative team of Blumarine cherishes this statement. Complimenti!
Sweet like chocolate but soft like cotton candy – Emporio Armani‘s new collection is flowing, flying, flattering the female body. This ready-to-wear line in the Armani World has experienced some doubters in the past but 122 boutiques worldwide prove them wrong. And so does the new Summer collection, too.
