Kraftwerk @ Zurich OpenAir / Zurich

The innovative. The provocative. The legendary. Kraftwerk!!!

Headlining the Zurich OpenAir festival, Kraftwerk left quite an impression yesterday on both the audience and the other artists. If it hadn’t been for their groundbreaking electronic sounds many of the present artists wouldn’t be around at all. You can find samples of Kraftwerk in songs from Jay-Z to Coldplay but this doesn’t make these guys sit back and retire: Since 1970 when Kraftwerk was born, these four men push boundaries wherever they appear. Last night they created the first ever open air 3D show. In a sea of white Kraftwerk 3D glasses the audience just danced away into the muddy cyberspace… What a night!

Check the DiasOfDiaz Twitter account for some cool pictures right from the concert! If you ever have the chance to see Kraftwerk live you will find the original samples from a huge list of hits (hundreds in fact!): ”(Always Be My) Sunshine” by Jay-Z contains samples of “Man Machine”; ”Under Pressure” Dr. Dre featuring Jay-Z and “Ghetto Thang” by De La Soul both contain samples of “Trans- Europe Express”; “Talk” by Coldplay contains samples of “Computer Love”; “Fergalicious” by Fergie contains samples of “It’s More Fun To Compute”; ”Leave Home” by The Chemical Brothers contains samples of “Ohm Sweet Ohm”; Fatboy Slim covered “Radioactivity” while Rammstein covered “Das Model”…
