Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations @ Metropolitan Museum of Art / New York City

It’s open five days only now and still oh so exciting to talk about: the new MET exhibition Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. Inspired by Miguel Covarrubias’s “Impossible Interviews” for Vanity Fair in the 1930s, the MET arranged a meeting of two Italian designers that might come from different eras but might have become good friends. This exhibition includes far more than fashion: videos of simulated conversations between Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada about how they approach things and how to explore new ways in design. The ugly, the classic and the exotic: Elsa and Miuccia did it all.

Find the MET in and online. The exhibition is open until 19 August 2012.
