Magnolia Bakery / New York City
Ok… Enough of self-flagellation… I should be off to the ultimate classic refuge: the Magnolia Bakery. This is the West Village how I love it! The whole world knows that this must be a fine place to consume some pastry – Carrie Bradshaw told them several times during the six seasons of Sex and the City. Usually such fame is a guarantee to minimize what you actually became famous for: taste, creativity or whatever took you so far. But even after the second cook book and the sale of fan T-shirts the Magnolia Bakery is still around and still fabulous. Classic and fabulous, as Samantha Jones would say…
Find it still in 401 Bleeker Street at the corner of 11th Street. In case you can’t go personally: they have an online shop by now…
