Étienne Marcel / Paris
Oh, a day at Kiliwatch can be very exhausting… The fact that All Saints Spitalfields and Ikks are just around the corner doesn’t really help your credit card recovery either. My favorite place to take a break is amidst all three of them: the Café Étienne Marcel. The croque monsieur is fantastic and – if you’re not able to deal with carbs – the smoothies are really a treat. Try the Brésilien with many exotic fruits – from Brazil, as the name hints already…
The atmosphere depends a lot on when you are going: at lunch time you will find many business people and young people mingling on the sixties-style furniture. In the evening and at night time this is a very Parisian place: you need to do something to be noticed by the service staff. So you either go there and don’t really care or you will find yourself leaving after five minutes of being ignored by the waitress… You choose. I prefer lunch time there.
Find the Café Étienne Marcel in 34 Rue Étienne Marcel, very close to the métro Étienne Marcel.
