Tushita Teehaus / Munich

I had to go to Munich recently. It was pure torture… Not because of Munich but because of the fever I had. I had to walk the whole city for research, it was raining and my favourite chocolatier was on holiday…So as i said: it was pure torture.

In Klenzestrasse I accidentally stumbled into a tea room called “Tushita”. I have walked this street a million times but I never realized there was such a nice cafe / restaurant right around the corner of the tube station Fraunhoferstrasse. So here it is: Tushita Teehaus, Klenzestrasse 53. Great tea selections, adorable accessories and tea equipment and – what is most stunnning! – very competent staff that will answer all your questions about the tea you might be looking for. As I was coughing all the time the waitress recommended a special tea. Vishudda Tea was a supposedly smooth mixture for throat and voice box, said to have beneficial effects on hoarseness and was mostly recommended for singers. To make a long story short: I was extremely incredulous… And I was wrong. It was all that and more. I could finally breathe for a minute… No need to say that I bought a tea bag for my homeward journey…
